March 11-12, 2011 Fayette County Fairgrounds La Grange TX Horse Clinics
There will be several horse clinics on training and handling your horse at this year's gathering.
Dan Keen's unique training method that he calls "Wenglish" originated from the knowledge Dan acquired from the experiences with his own Western horses over the years. He has taken the best from both worlds and uses it in his training techniques. The results have been successful for low level to Grand Prix horses. For more on Dan Keen and his techniques click here. Hombres de Caballos Espanoles An Andalusian horse group known as Hombres de Caballos Espanoles (Spanish Horsemen) will be making their third appearance at this year's Best Little Cowboy Gathering. This group started in 2005 and are regular participants in the Houston Livestock Show Parade. Andalusian horses were bred as war horses in Spain during the 15th century. They have great stamina and were later bred for carriage horses. In later years they were bred to participate in Spanish bull fight rings. This group's horses are trained Escuela Alta, meaning various foot and leg movements. Hombres de Caballos Espanoles will have three demonstrations during the weekend. They will perform at 6:00pm on Friday, and 10:00am and 2:00pm on Saturday. |
